Background

My name is Tim Staves and New Leaf Gardens is the garden design business which I started in 2003. After leaving university, I qualified as an accountant but quickly realised that this was not the career for me. "New Leaf" was so named because it represented a change in lifestyle for me as much as it implies a change in the gardens that I have created.

I have long since felt very lucky to be able to combine my interests in my day to day working life, however, I understood that professional qualifications would also be essential when growing a business. As a result, I have undertaken a number of courses and have recognised qualifications from both the Royal Horticultural Society and Leeds Metropolitan University.
